Taxi Rethink

Re-designing the taxi over at 37signals is kind of interesting (if you look at the linkage), but my favourite part (apart from the hats! I want a taxi fez!) is the comment which just says ”Even the shark’s going ‘wtf?!’

Great Customer Service

Jeffrey McManus has posted a great example of customer service from CD Baby—I like their attitude!

Word Substitution

It’s amazing what you can do simply by replacing one word with another similar, but very different, word. Witness this quote from bash.org which concludes that J.K. Rowling “is a dirty DIRTY woman”...

Wanna cheap iPod?

Cut out and keep: Cheap iPod

Now That's What I Call Office Space

Joel Spolsky provides the lowdown on Fog Creek’s new office space... very, very nice.

Linkpool

I quite like this: Linkpool. Basically, it’s a highly dynamic version of Anil Dash’s Daily Links, but with the downside of link quality being highly variable.

On the upside, however, I discovered this nice t-shirt.

Upcoming.org

Ray Ozzie points to Upcoming, but also poses some equally interesting questions.

Adam Smith Instituate

The Adam Smith Institute now has a weblog (powered by MovableType).

In case you don’t know:

The Institute’s main focus is on reforming governments and state enterprises in order to promote choice, competition, enterprise, and user-focus. It works through research, reports, conferences, advice, and media debate.

Har-di-har-har

Another hilarious auction on eBay: Brand New Folder for your Windows XP desktop!

Laugh? More of a snort, really… :-)

Online Aggregators

Martin has done a round-up of the various online RSS aggregators that are available: Online Aggregators

Quite, quite, strange

This is kind of weird, but also kind of cool:

FIFA and some of Hollywood’s leading producers have today announced a co-operation agreement which will set the pace for the “world’s favourite sport” to be at the centre of a major Hollywood trilogy.

Laurence Bender (producer of Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Good Will Hunting) is supporting this. One film each year from 2004, with the final one co-inciding with the 2006 World Cup.

Batman - Dead End

This fan film is causing a bit of a stir, it seems.

Update: I’ve watched it now, and it’s very well done, if a bit surreal! Worth a look if you can be bothered to download it.

Naming Products

Via Dave Winer: How to name a product.

Sound advice. Getting the right name for your product (or the title for any project) will help guide you as you work through it – how can you know what you’re working on if you don’t know what it’s called?

Which day of the week is that?

MTV to launch MVNO

From Europemedia.net: MTV becomes latest Swedish mobile operator

Interesting. Not least because I was giving some thought to this last week. Guess someone beat me to it…
